The Studio, set up by Dave in 2018, is based in the Forest of Dean and is a small, specialised and purpose built workshop focused on producing high end contemporary furniture - hand built with outstanding execution of detail and quality. As a third generation woodworker, growing up surrounded by timber, tools and wood shavings, Dave begun his training under his father’s instruction, with an emphasis on working using traditional techniques. The need to strive towards the highest of standards was ingrained, and principles of precision and refinement remain integral to the Studio Ethos. Designs from the studio are progressive and elegant in style, yet maintain robustness through attention to detail. Dave still works with the hand tools used by his grandfather within his own woodworking career, and places great value in the connection he has with his grandfather’s tradition.

LOCATION
The studio is based on the Welsh border, within close proximity to Bristol and the South West. Surrounded by Forests and Woodland, inspiration is always close at hand! Freestanding Furniture Commissions can be taken on from across the UK, and early stage meetings can easily be facilitated through FaceTime, Zoom or Skype.
SUSTAINABILTY
Selecting timber with a low carbon footprint is an important part of the studio ethos. Most of the hardwoods used will be selected from native species where possible, processed and milled to an exceptional standard in sawmills within close proximity to the workshop.
