Terms & Conditions

  1. At D Ransom Studio, every care is made to ensure that the product you order is made to the highest of standards. Each product will be handmade to ensure an exceptional level of quality control.

  2. If for any reason there are issues of workmanship that arise within 28 days of receipt, corrections will be made - in most instances - free of charge, though subject to review. Transportation costs may still be applicable. This does not relate to general wear or tear of the furniture piece/s, accidental damage of the furniture by the client or other issues as detailed in points 6 - 8.

  3. The Design Make process at D Ransom Studio requires an initial deposit (usually between 30 - 40% of the total cost) before any product manufacture takes place. This deposit is non-refundable, and any final balance is expected on delivery.

  4. Significant time and energy will always be put into reaching a design decision together. Once a final design is settled upon and a deposit is paid, this design will be assumed fixed and major design changes will be at extra cost to the client. Small details within a design that do not affect the overall structural integrity may be adapted and altered through discussion however. With all bespoke commissions, refunds requested based solely on the grounds of end product stylistic outcome cannot always be guaranteed or approved.

  5. More complex designs that require significant early stage design time may be subject to a small design fee. Any fees will be discussed in advance in order that a client is fully aware of any costs associated with producing a working design and quote.

  6. Though the timber used in production is generally Kiln dried stock which will acclimatise successfully to an indoor environment, timber as a natural product can move in itself over time, this movement being affected primarily through temperature variation. Care will be needed by the user to ensure that any furniture item is away from direct heat sources, or in areas prone to significantly varying temperatures, in order to minimise the small risk of natural defects occurring over time. This natural process is not something that can be covered by D Ransom Studio over a products lifespan.

  7. Finishes use are always robust and suited to general use. Care must be taken by the Client however to ensure that spills and other dirt is cleaned carefully, using recommended products only. Water marks, Damp and food products can leave unavoidable stains on timber surfaces if left unchecked, something that is out of the control of the maker.

  8. D Ransom Studio cannot be held responsible for any neglect of the product in its day-to-day use that may result in damage. Joinery strength is designed around standard/expected use only, excessive loading or use of furniture outside of its designated purpose is at the clients responsibility.

  9. All Designs remain copyright by D Ransom Studio. Replications of furniture pieces or use of designs without consent are not permitted.
